"In everything prepared" is
the motto of the Beddow program for junior high and high
school students. Our mission is to help our students
get ready for the challenges they will face in college and
beyond. We begin with high expectations for mastering
essential skills in math and language. The curriculum
emphasizes broad knowledge of science, history, and
culture. We promote the values of hard work,
cooperation, responsibility and respect.
Beddow
Students learn to set goals, to establish priorities, and to
manage the work of their own education. Along the way,
their teachers nurture initiative, encourage entrepreneurial
spirit, and foster concern for the larger community in which
we live.
Beddow
High School
meets all county and state requirements for a private school and holds a Certificate of Approval from
the Maryland State Board of Education. |

Begun in 1996 as a Junior High School, Beddow expanded to include
grades 7-12 when it moved to its new campus in 1999.
The high school is in a rural setting near the
Potomac River and cultural sites such as National Colonial Farm
and Fort Washington National Park. Its convenience to
Virginia, Washington, DC and southern Maryland enables Beddow
students to take field trips to the Smithsonian Museums and other
historical and governmental institutions, thereby enhancing the
academic program.
We encourage prospective students and their
families to attend an Open House to meet our faculty.
